CBH -- Alginate Acid, a polysaccharide extracted from kelp-like Phaeophyceae, formed by L-Mannuronic acid (M section) and D-Guluronic acid (G section), connected through 1,4-glucosidic bond. Alginate acid is in a instability state, and it can react with positive metal ion to form a series of alginate products.
Properties:
1. Apperance: white or light yellow powder
2. Insoluble in water, odorless and almost tasteless
3. High swell type, with swelling coefficient minimum 22
Applications:
1. Medicine: used as the main material of Gaviscon tablets, tablets disintegration agent and hypotensor element
2. Food: as a natural food additive and used in health care food
